Privacy Policy
The short version: every test runs in your browser, on your device. We don't have a server that receives your mouse movements or clicks. Here's the full detail.
How Our Tools Handle Your Data
MouseDPITester has no account system and no server-side processing for any test. DPI calculations, polling-rate timing and click-interval measurements are all computed by JavaScript running locally in your browser tab and are never transmitted anywhere.
Information We Collect
| Data | Where it lives | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Theme preference (light/dark) | Browser local storage | Remembers your display preference between visits |
| Recent test results (DPI, polling rate, double-click) | Browser local storage | Shows your last few runs so you can compare them |
| Converter/calculator inputs | Not stored | Held only in page memory while the tab is open |
| Standard web server logs | Hosting provider | Basic security and uptime monitoring, like almost every website |
- Local storage stays local — it's a browser feature that saves small amounts of data on your own device. We never receive it, and it's never sent over the network.
- No tracking cookies — we don't use cookies to follow you across sites or build an advertising profile.
- No payment or account data — there's nothing to sign up for, so there's nothing like that to collect.
Services We Rely On
We keep third-party dependencies minimal, but a couple are worth disclosing.
- Google Fonts — page text is rendered using fonts loaded from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com. Like any external request, this exposes your IP address and browser details to Google in the same way loading an image from another site would. See Google's Privacy Policy for details. - Your hosting provider — whoever serves this website may keep standard access logs for security and reliability, independent of anything the site itself does.
- No analytics or ad networks — we don't currently run third-party analytics or advertising scripts on this site.
Your Choices
- Clear saved results anytime — every tool has a "Clear" button next to Recent Tests, or you can clear your browser's site data manually.
- Block local storage entirely — disabling JavaScript or blocking site data in your browser settings stops any local storage from being written, though the tests themselves also need JavaScript to run.
- No request needed to "delete your data" — since nothing leaves your device, there's nothing on our end to delete.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age — the tools simply don't have a mechanism to collect it.
Changes to This Policy
If our tools change in a way that affects this policy — for example, adding an optional feature that requires network access — we'll update this page and revise the date at the top.
Reach out any time through our contact page and we'll get back to you.
